Every volunteer is a vital and valuable member of our team.
How to Become a Volunteer
We rely on our dedicated volunteers for a variety of tasks at the shelter and at public events including:
- Walking dogs
- Caring for cats
- Socializing dogs through our Shy Dog Program
- Fostering dogs
- Performing minor shelter repairs
- Photographing animals for the website
- Doing laundry
- Participating in fundraising, adoption and community outreach events
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Younger volunteers may participate under the supervision of a parent.
- Must enjoy all types of people and demonstrate a genuine concern for animal welfare.
Steps to Become a Saint Frances Volunteer
- Complete the online volunteer application here or come to SFAC to complete an application.
- The volunteer coordinator will contact you to schedule your required volunteer orientation.
- Additional supervised training may be required depending on your area of interest.
